The European Centre for Economic and Social Research (ECESR), in cooperation with the MNFORCE agency, conducted a public opinion poll in September 2025 focused on the evaluation of the Slovak government’s consolidation measures. The results show that the majority of Slovak citizens perceive these steps critically.

As many as 60% of respondents consider the measures to be poorly designed, while 66% report a negative impact on their household budget. Only 15% of those surveyed believe that the consolidation measures will improve living standards in the future. Public perception of inflation and food prices is also strongly negative – 71% rate inflation as high, and 84% say food prices are too high.

The research thus highlights the prevailing public skepticism towards government policies and the overall economic situation in the country.
